"Over this quarantine, dance has helped me gain a sense of hope. I have my ups and downs but staying physically active inside has helped my mental state. Things may be different now, but my passion for dance has not changed and dance has really helped me escape."

"Dance has helped me stay physically active and in touch with my body on days where I am feeling off. It has provided me with an emotional outlet as it’s allowed me to express my most troubling emotions when I don’t have the words to explain them."

"Dance has always been a huge part of my life. Not only does it make me feel better physically, but it is extremely therapeutic as well. It has acted as an outlet for me for years, especially during times like these. It has brought me so much joy and I am forever grateful for it."

"Dance allows me to express my deepest emotions when I have no idea how to explain them in complete thoughts or words. Dancing allows me to let go and cry, laugh, or even smile when I'm dancing. This allows me to bring mindfulness to my feelings and be aware that whatever I am feeling is okay. Dancing allows me to not only express who I truly am but it allows me to choreograph movement that is therapeutic for me."

“Covid-19 has changed the way the wind blows for all of us. Although it is so easy to marinate in the unfortunate events, it is with a more mature heart that we look to the light. Personally, although Covid-19 has taken away my privilege of learning in class, it has not taken away my passion to learn and dance. This piece I created is improvised on spot, just as sometimes our life is. Which is something I’ve learned and come to cherish. Not only has Covid-19 taught me this, but dance too. Dance has allowed my soul to rawly feel what exactly needs to be felt in the moment. With improvisation, there is no planning, just feeling and sometimes that’s all our heart’s really need.”
